ADAHK Performance at New York ETO welcomes Year of Snake

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY) hosted its annual Hong Kong Spring Reception on February 4 (New York time), welcoming close to 400 guests from government agencies, businesses, think tanks, non-profits, academic institutions, cultural organisations and the media to usher in the Year of the Snake.  The evening was further enriched by a special performance featuring three talented Hong Kong musicians: violinist Ding Yijie, erhu player Yang Enhua (both from the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong), and professional pianist Laurina Hong. Sponsored by the HKETONY and Cathay Pacific, the trio presented a captivating selection of music blending Eastern and Western traditions, showcasing Hong Kong's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

Inclusive Arts at Your Fingertips: DIY Series
Inclusive Arts at Your Fingertips: DIY Series

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, we are launching the ‘Inclusive Arts at Your Fingertips’ DIY series for the first time, allowing you to immerse yourself in the fun of DIY at home even if you have zero experience! The series includes ‘Make Your Own Ukulele’ and ‘Paint Your Own Canvas Bag’. We have also invited three artists with disabilities design painting patterns for different DIY kits. Each set includes all the necessary tools and materials, a teaching manual and video so that crafters or those who want to relax can easily tackle the arty project at home. Our kits are tremendous for kids to get crafty and creative as well as train them to concentrate and be patient.

About

Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) has been established as a non-profit and charitable organisation since 1986. The Association is a member of the Access/VSA International Network 2024 and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. With the vision of ‘Arts are for Everyone,’ ADAHK believes that everyone has the potential and talent for creativity and the right to enjoy the beauty and vitality of the arts. We are dedicated to providing holistic services to support the arts development amongst people with disabilities. We promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities to have access to and excel in the arts and advocate for an inclusive society through the arts.

'Arts with the Disabled in Hong Kong' Online Channel and Archive (THE Platform) is the first online platform and database in Hong Kong which researches, documents, and presents the development history, artists and artworks of local arts with the disabled. Aiming to carry on the past and open up the future, THE Platform brings together disabled and non-disabled who engage in the arts with the disabled, and hopes to create a one-stop portal facing towards local and international art sectors and audiences.
