“Apart from this, such feeling can be attributable to my bodily conditions. A real contrast. The more I am immobile and not free, the more I want the strong colours to fill in the blanks in my life. Colours lead me into a kingdom of free imagination.”
— Liu Tung Mui, "Words from the Heart & their Interpretation", p.9)
“Drawing or painting can be a very easy thing for most people. But for Liu Tung Mui, when she does a painting, she had to use immense energy with pouring sweat. Although she found it hard, she realized that this was the bridge through which she contacted the outside world – it also is all the tools for her to express and communicate. In the unlimited space of art, Tung Mui, with restricted ability to move, she diligently unleash her great imagination in her artistic creation. Her thought was never empty like as blank piece of paper – rather she tried very hard to put her optimistic thinking and turbulence in her heart on paper with her magic hands for all to see.” (p. 5)
