Lai Hoi Ting
Sylvia Lai Hoi Ting, an artist of Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK), and a recipient of the Lee Hysan Foundation’s Artists with Disability Development Fund, is deeply passionate about dancing, having studied Latin and Ballroom dance since childhood. Despite facing challenges with ADHD and dyslexia, she is committed to becoming an exceptional dancer and promoting dancesport. From 2009 to 2017, she achieved Latin Dance (Women’s Steps) Levels 1-8 and completed the Associate Latin Dance Teacher Examination with the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) in 2017. She is currently a member of the Hong Kong Representative Team.
Lai has received multiple awards and achieved outstanding rankings in various Latin dance events, currently holding the 3rd position in Female Adult Solo Latin at the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF). She has participated in various local and international competitions, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Dancesport Open Competition, the ‘ZhongShun JieRou Championship’ in 2018, the ‘DanceSport for All’ in 2021, the ‘WDSF World Championship and World Cup’ in 2024 and the ‘WDSF OPEN’ since 2018 across various cities.
As a recipient of the ADAHK Artists with Disability Development Fund, supported by the Lee Hysan Foundation, Lai’s recent performances include THE Platform's ‘Harmonies of the Dance’ inclusive dance online video, the ‘My Way’ inclusive dance performance at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and the No Limits ‘Small Steps, Giant Strides’ community showcase at Tai Kwun.
