TANG Anson Cheuk Him
Born in Hong Kong, Anson Tang, the Artist of the Artist with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, is an accomplished pianist who also a wheelchair user. With a full scholarship support from Lee Hysan Foundation, Tang graduated from Royal College of Music, United Kingdom, under the tutelage of Professor Nigel Clayton. Supported by Talent Unlimited, he is the first wheelchair user to study in RCM keyboard faculty.
Tang has won in various Hong Kong and international competitions, including the VSA International Young Soloists Award and a third prize in the Watford International Piano Competition. In 2024, he gave his debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the United States. He was presented as a soloist with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016 and gave his first solo recital in Hong Kong in 2017. As an active pianist, he has cooperated and studied with renowned musicians including the celebrated violinist Midori Gotō, pianist Piers Lane, Artur Pizzaro, Nancy Loo and Colleen Lee.
In 2012, Tang was honored with the Merit Award at the ‘Hong Kong Outstanding Teens Election’ by the Hong Kong Playground Association. In 2016, He also honored as an ambassador for the Regeneration Society in recognition of his positive impact on society.
