Ka Yu experienced brain cancer when she was six years old which affects her mental and physical abilities. The treatment to cancer caused inflammation of her brain, and thus her long hospitalization. In spite of her conditions, Ka Yu still keeps her passion towards life. During her time in hospital, she began to develop her interest in painting. She has actively participated in “Creativity to Independence Project” Painting Workshop (110 hours) organised by Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADA) in recent years to further enhance her painting skills.
