Ding Yijie
Ding Yijie, the Artist of the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, was born and raised in Foshan, China. She started violin lessons at the age of six, overcoming the challenges of being blind since birth. Ding graduated with distinction, earning both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, majoring in violin performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Ding has been marked by significant achievements in prestigious competitions as a professional violinist, including winning the 2nd prize and Jury Special at the HKGNA International Music Competition and the VSA International Young Soloists Competition in the United States in 2021. In 2019 and 2024, she was a featured soloist in a full recital as part of the Hong Kong Arts Festival’s No Limit. She has performed as a solo violinist with esteemed orchestras in Hong Kong such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, In-heritage Philharmonic and Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. Her international performances include appearances at Perigee Hall in Seoul and Schloss Bellevue in Berlin.
