Lee Yannis
Performing Arts
Yannis listens to western classical music endlessly from birth. Growing up, he developed his musical interest for his curiosity in knowing about every instrument in the orchestra.
At age four, Yannis started attending concerts by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, where his parents work, during which he visited the backstage every intermission to meet the orchestra members to see how each instrument sounds like and is played.
In 2008, he began playing the piano (is now ABRSM Grade 8), and the French horn four years later. He then came across some miracles in his musical sense, including that he has perfect pitch and a decent sense of tempo.
At age sixteen, Yannis premiered his Trio in C at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Father’s Day Concert 2020 with himself playing piano, his father, Homer Lee, playing horn, and his mother, Sophia Woo, playing Marimba.
Yannis is one of the founder members in the PMA’s True Colors Symphony, the most active all-inclusive orchestra in Hong Kong.
As of now, his main goal is to major in either composition or early music studies for his further higher education.
He is now studying music in Falmouth University, United Kingdom.
